Health Care in Danger (HCID) is an initiative of the International Red Cross Movement to address the problem of violence against patients, health workers, facilities and vehicles and ensure access and provision of health services during armed conflicts and other emergencies.

Displaced in cities

The video ”Displaced in cities” has been made to publicize the report of the same name, which the ICRC has launched, and highlights the new needs that arise due to urban internal displacement (outside the camps).

SRI (Support Relationships in Armed Conflict)

The aim of the video is to transmit the esence of the SRI publication and of the initiative at large: supporting parties to armed conflicts creates both risks and opportunities when it comes to the protection of civilians, wounded, detainees.

Humanitarian Accountability Report 2022

The HAR 2022 provides a “snapshot” of accountability, based on a compilation of verification data from 95 CHS-verified organisations (gathered between 2015 to 2021), along with a compilation of verification data from the 12 organisations that have completed a full four-year CHS certification cycle.

International Humanitarian law (IHL)

Customary international law consists of rules that come from "a general practice accepted as law" and exist independent of treaty law. Customary IHL is of crucial importance in today’s armed conflicts because it fills gaps left by treaty law and so strengthens the protection offered to victims.

The video has been created to promote “The Core Humanitarian Standard” (CHS) sets out the essential elements of principled accountable and high-quality aid. Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Sexual Harassment (PSEAH) is essential to this and how an organisation should prevent and respond to allegations of sexual abuse and harassment is woven throughout the Standard.

First 72 hours

Victims of sexual violence require and must have access to crucial support -- especially within the first 72 hours that the crime was committed. This video aims to share this information with service providers as well as survivors of sexual violence, with the hopes that we all play our part in supporting victims/survivors of sexual violence.
